Automation Control gives you greater flexibility in controlling your disputes. With this feature, you decide when our automation should take action for you.
How to Delay Dispute Submission:
In the Chargeflow app, navigate to the Disputes tab.
In the upper-right corner, click Automation Center.
Select the timeframe you wish to base the delay on:
Dispute Initiation Date
Dispute Due Date
Enter the desired number of days for the delay and click Save.
Here's how the timing works:
Default 5-Day Delay: For all new accounts, Chargeflow defaults to a 5-day submission delay after a dispute is initiated. This built-in window gives you time to fulfill shipments, reach out to customers, and gather any late-arriving data — all of which help build a stronger dispute defense.
Immediate Submission: If you choose not to set an automation delay, your dispute response will be automatically submitted within an hour once it meets the auto-submit conditions.
Customizable Timeframes: You can adjust the delay to fit your specific business needs — for example, extending it up to 20 days if you have longer fulfillment windows. To update this setting, navigate to Disputes > Automation Center and toggle your preferred number of days.
💡 We recommend setting your automation delay to the maximum — either 20 days after the dispute initiation date or 5 days before the bank's due date. This gives you more time to upload additional evidence and allows the latest shipment status to sync before Chargeflow submits your case.
Banks set a fixed window for submitting dispute responses, and they only review them after the due date — so there's no advantage to submitting early. What matters isn't speed, it's the strength of your response. Maximizing your submission window means you have every opportunity to gather the best evidence and build the most compelling case for why the transaction was valid.
